James Cook, President and CEO

Prior to founding Raise Sails, Jim held executive sales positions for enterprise software, services, and wireless firms. In his 20-year career, he has forged valuable relationships with C-level executives in the financial services, telecommunications, transportation, and healthcare industries, among others. Jim held the position of director of strategic accounts for Cysive, an enterprise software company. There, he supervised national accounts that included Citigroup, JPMorganChase, FedEx, Fidelity, Wells Fargo, FleetBoston, Capital One, Reuters, and MBNA and was the company’s top sales director in 2002 and 2003. He has also held sales and account management roles at Unisource Network Services, Comsearch Consulting, and Lexis-Nexis, as well as acquisition positions with publishing firms John Wiley and Harper & Row. Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Colorado and an MBA from George Washington University. He is the host of NOVA Business Spotlight, a monthly cable TV show highlighting Northern Virginia business leaders.

Kathleen S. Jameison, CPA, CFO

Founder and President of K.S.Jameison & Associates, LLC, headquartered in Alexandria, VA, Kathy has specialized in assisting a broad range of clients with organizational, financial management and budgeting, tax planning and compliance, and accounting system design, implementation and monitoring services since 1976. Education includes Radcliffe College and a BS from New York University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the AICPA Tax Division, the Virginia Society of CPAs, and numerous other professional organizations.

Kent Barnett, VP of Operations

Before joining RaiseSails, Kent created two successful companies, in 1997, Kent co-founded Project Resources, Inc. Project Resources provided tactical, operational, and strategic project managers to Fortune 100 companies. After the acquisition of Project Resources, Inc. in 2000, Kent formed Management Outsourcing LLC and has been providing technical, project, and management consulting to domestic and international organizations. Kent holds a BS in computer information systems and an MBA from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He holds numerous technical and project management certifications, including Software Verification and Validation, Software Compliance for FDA, and Project Management Professional (PMP).
